Hello,
When a v2004 database is converted to v11 will any 'Ascii' commands get auto-changed to 'Character code' or do they remain labeled 'Ascii' but still return a UTF-16 code? The 'Ascii' command has been renamed to 'Character code'. It's the same command, but now it returns a unicode code point when in unicode mode or an ascii code when in campatibility mode. HTH. Thank you Pierre. Yes, I realize the command has been renamed and will
return Unicode values (if in Unicode mode) but what I'm wondering is...Once our database is converted to v11, when we open the structure will the "Ascii" commands have been replaced, by the conversion, with "Character code" or will they still say "Ascii"? On the other hand, it is not diacritical (a=A, a=` and so on) and does not take "ignorable" characters such as characters whose code < 9 into account (Unicode specification). To modify this functioning, pass the asterisk * as the last parameter. In this case, comparisons will be based on character codes. You must pass the * parameter: * If you want to replace special characters, used for example as delimiters (Char(1), etc.), * If the replacement of characters must be case sensitive and take accented characters into account (a#A, a#` and so on). Note that in this mode, the evaluation does not handle variations in the way words are written. Interesting that we both had it happen on that same digest. Do you happen to use Time Warner Cable/Roadrunner for your internet connection by any chance? I have no idea if that could be the issue. Or maybe it's something to do with Vista? It's a quirky OS. For example, the scanner function of my all-in-one printer no longer works from my Windows box now that I'm on Vista. (I've researched it some and apparently that particular issue is a known problem with Vista.) Maybe I should just try using gmail again for the iNUG. Thanks for the reply! Rebecca,
Internally, 4D keeps track of each command by ID. This makes it easy for them to support multiple languages and change names of commands. So when you open a method in v11, the command code will draw with the new command name, not the old one. HTH. -- Cannon Smith Synergy Farm Solutions P.O. I did not know that! (As Johnny Carson would say.) But it makes perfect
sense. Thank you so much Cannon. This was very helpful!! Rebecca Bryant [hidden email] >Rebecca, >Internally, 4D keeps track of each command by ID. some how - I turned on something that forces the res/rex (or its equivalent) to update every time I log into my server.
How do I stop this?? i.e.: where is the settings hiding? The voice input and output is very good in this Wireless PS3 Headset. It is compatible with all PS3 games.Buy from Reliable Google Android PC apad Wholesalers.
